I provide coaching for Black women and other women of color who want to disrupt patterns of sacrificing self for others that’s often rooted in narratives of people pleasing.

The unique intersection of your race and gender compounds the struggles you face in both your personal and professional life.

We Are taught early on…

that our lives are primarily meant to be in service to others, which makes us feel selfish for wanting to prioritize ourselves, our needs, and our wants.

This is especially true when you’ve “made it” and experienced some amount of success or accolades in life.

You might feel like you don’t have the “right” to complain or talk about the challenges you face.

You may feel guilty because you’re now in a new tax bracket and have it “better” than your friends and family.

But here’s the thing—-two things can be true at the same time!

You can be appreciative and grateful for where you are AND you get to be real about the pain and struggle.

Others may only see the shiny benefits of your position, but they often have no idea what it costs you on a daily basis.

As a pastor once said, “new levels, new devils.”

Coaching is your space to be real about how you feel and what you experience.

(1) 90-minute laser session.

Active listening.

The most crucial and effective technique I embody is that of an active listener–without judgment.

Many of us do not know what it is like to have someone’s full, undivided attention–to be deeply attuned to.

My number one priority is to seek to understand your perspectives, emotions, and underlying motivations.

Learning you, seeing you, validating you, making space for you, is my highest and most important objective.

You deserve for your full self to be beheld and honored.

 

Self-awareness.

When was the last time you had the time or space to think deeply about what it is you really want for your life?

Or maybe you do have the time, but feel like you’ve taken yourself as far as you can go…maybe you’ve been sensing that there’s more to unlock than you have been able to access. 

I ask the thought-provoking questions that encourage you to explore your strengths, weaknesses, values, beliefs and goals, and challenge you to think deeply and gain insights into yourself.

We will then leverage your strengths to build on what you do well to boost your confidence and performance.

For so many of us failure sends us on a shame spiral because we were never allowed to mess up or make mistakes.

Real talk, did you get yelled at if you spilled something as a kid? I know I did.

And you know what that taught me?

That taught me to be deathly afraid of doing something wrong, of making others upset.

And at its most fundamental level, it’s taught me to be afraid of being human.

Do you know how much work it takes to NOT be human? Of course you do…I know you do. 

So, can we journey back to being human?

That means embracing, and dare I say celebrating, the reality that the journey is about progress not perfection…that takes so much pressure off!

I want to help you free yourself from the oppressive myth that missing the mark somehow means that your entire being and self is a failure.

You will be equipped to separate what you do from who you are, and learn tools for managing stress, coping with setbacks, and developing resilience.

You will never make the big leaps towards what you truly want if you are unwilling to tolerate the discomfort of maybe not getting it right on the first try or being so afraid of what others might think about you that you never even try.

It’s time to divest from the bondage of overthinking and shame that keep you paralyzed and stuck in only living in your daydreams.

All aspects of life are interconnected–career, relationships, health, finances, spirituality, ALL OF IT.

coaching vs therapy…what’s the difference?

You might benefit from therapy if:
