Therapy in Baldwin Hills | Counselor Dr. Jacquelyn Johnson
I offer Christian therapy and executive coaching in Baldwin Hills for high achieving Black women and women of color who are tired of holding everything together without support. This work is for women who lead with grace, show up consistently for others, and quietly carry emotional exhaustion, anxiety, spiritual guilt, and burnout beneath the surface. My approach honors your mental health, your faith, and the full truth of your lived experience.
Baldwin Hills is a community deeply rooted in culture, legacy, and leadership. Often referred to as the Black Beverly Hills, this area is home to women who carry both professional success and generational responsibility. Many women here are balancing leadership roles, family expectations, church involvement, and personal ambition, all while feeling pressure to stay strong and composed. There are few spaces that allow you to exhale fully and be seen without judgment.
My practice exists to offer that space. Women in Baldwin Hills choose this work because I understand the tension between being dependable and being depleted. You do not have to choose between faith and therapy, strength and softness, or success and rest. Here, your needs are not an afterthought. They are sacred.
Ready to get started?
01
Clarify what’s no longer working
We’ll explore what’s bringing you in, the weight you’ve been carrying, and what you’re hoping will feel different. We start by exploring the patterns, roles, and beliefs that have been keeping you stuck in over-functioning, burnout, and emotional disconnection, especially those shaped by faith, culture, and performance.
02
Reclaim your voice and emotional truth
Together, we’ll begin to untangle the internalized narratives that say you have to be strong, silent, or selfless to be worthy. This is where you’ll practice honoring your needs, setting sacred boundaries, and telling yourself the truth, without shame.
03
Redefine your life from the inside out
As healing unfolds, we’ll build a more honest, faith-affirming relationship with yourself and your emotional world. You’ll walk away with tools to support your growth, rhythms that restore you, and a renewed sense of spiritual and emotional alignment.

Christian Counseling for Women
LEARN MOREChristian therapy is designed for high achieving women who love God yet feel emotionally worn down, disconnected, or overwhelmed by constant responsibility. This work integrates faith with psychological care so you do not have to compartmentalize your healing. Prayer, doubt, grief, anger, and exhaustion are all welcome here. Many women come in believing they should pray harder instead of asking for help. In therapy, we gently challenge that belief and affirm that seeking support can be an act of faith. Sessions focus on burnout, anxiety, perfectionism, emotional suppression, and identity beyond productivity. Therapy is offered virtually, making it accessible for women throughout Baldwin Hills who want meaningful support without disrupting their already full lives. This service is ideal for women who want emotional safety, spiritual alignment, and permission to rest.
Executive Coaching for High-Achieving Women
LEARN MOREExecutive coaching supports women who lead organizations, ministries, or teams while privately feeling depleted or disconnected from themselves. This coaching focuses on sustainable leadership, boundary clarity, decision fatigue, and emotional resilience. Many women in Baldwin Hills carry high visibility roles while also holding family and community responsibility. Coaching offers a structured space to reflect, recalibrate, and lead without self abandonment. Sessions are offered virtually for convenience and flexibility.
Anxiety Therapy for High-Achieving Women
LEARN MOREAnxiety therapy supports women who are praised for staying calm under pressure while internally feeling tense, restless, or overwhelmed. Anxiety often shows up as overthinking, hyper responsibility, and difficulty resting. In therapy, we explore how anxiety lives in your body, thoughts, and spiritual life while building emotional safety and grounding. This service is ideal for women navigating leadership, caregiving, and faith commitments in Baldwin Hills.
Depression Therapy for High-Achieving Women
LEARN MOREDepression therapy in Baldwin Hills offers support for women who feel emotionally numb, disconnected, or quietly hopeless while continuing to show up for others. Depression is often hidden behind competence and reliability. Therapy creates space to process sadness, grief, fatigue, and loss of self in a way that feels safe and affirming. This service is offered virtually to support women across the Baldwin Hills area.
Therapy for Perfectionism
LEARN MORETherapy for perfectionism helps women who feel driven to overperform, avoid mistakes, and carry unrealistic expectations of themselves. Perfectionism often develops as a protective strategy but leads to burnout and emotional disconnection. In therapy, we work toward releasing self worth from achievement and building boundaries that support rest and self trust.
Life Coaching for Women
LEARN MORELife coaching supports women who feel successful yet unsure of what they want outside of expectations placed on them. Coaching focuses on clarity, values alignment, and intentional decision making while honoring faith and emotional capacity. This service is offered virtually and is ideal for women seeking direction without pressure.
Therapy for Executives
LEARN MORETherapy for executives is designed for women in leadership who feel isolated, emotionally burdened, or stretched thin. Therapy offers a confidential space to process stress, identity, and responsibility while supporting sustainable leadership. This service respects both your professional role and personal faith.
Therapy for Black Women
LEARN MORETherapy for Black women provides culturally responsive, faith affirming care that honors lived experience, identity, and resilience. This work addresses emotional labor, strength expectations, and the lack of safe spaces to rest. Therapy focuses on emotional liberation, boundary setting, and reconnecting with self beyond survival.

FAQ about my counseling services
How does virtual therapy work?
Sessions are hosted on a secure, private platform. You only need an internet connection and a quiet and private space.
Do you accept insurance?
I’m an out-of-network provider, which means I do not bill insurance directly. However, I can provide a superbill, a detailed receipt you may submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. Please note that to use insurance, a formal mental health diagnosis is required and it becomes part of your medical record. Insurance also relies on medical necessity, meaning once you no longer meet the criteria for that diagnosis, coverage may end and our work could be cut short. If you’re looking for flexible, personalized, and non-diagnostic care that puts you at the center and not a billing system, paying privately may be the best fit
What if I need to cancel or reschedule a session?
I ask for 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment to avoid a cancellation fee.
Is virtual therapy effective?
Yes. Virtual therapy offers the same benefits as in-person sessions while giving you the flexibility to stay consistent from the comfort of your home.
How do I know if this is the right fit?
The right therapist should make you feel seen and supported. If you want a space that honors your faith while helping you move beyond exhaustion and perfectionism, this approach may be what you’re looking for.
