Therapy in Crenshaw | Counselor Dr. Jacquelyn Johnson
I offer Christian therapy and coaching for Black women and women of color in Crenshaw who are deeply rooted in responsibility, leadership, and community presence. This work is for women who are often seen as strong, dependable, and capable, while privately carrying emotional weight, anxiety, and fatigue that rarely has space to land. My approach honors your faith while creating room for honesty, rest, and emotional clarity.
Crenshaw is more than a neighborhood. It is a cultural corridor shaped by legacy, visibility, and collective strength. Many women here are leaders in their families, churches, workplaces, and communities. With that visibility often comes pressure to stay composed, keep going, and represent well, even when the cost is emotional exhaustion or disconnection from yourself.
Women in Crenshaw seek out this work when strength alone no longer feels sustainable. They are not looking to abandon who they are or what they believe. They want support that respects their identity, faith, and lived experience while allowing them to finally be held, not just relied upon.

01
Clarify what’s no longer working
We’ll explore what’s bringing you in, the weight you’ve been carrying, and what you’re hoping will feel different. We start by exploring the patterns, roles, and beliefs that have been keeping you stuck in over-functioning, burnout, and emotional disconnection, especially those shaped by faith, culture, and performance.
02
Reclaim your voice and emotional truth
Together, we’ll begin to untangle the internalized narratives that say you have to be strong, silent, or selfless to be worthy. This is where you’ll practice honoring your needs, setting sacred boundaries, and telling yourself the truth, without shame.
03
Redefine your life from the inside out
As healing unfolds, we’ll build a more honest, faith-affirming relationship with yourself and your emotional world. You’ll walk away with tools to support your growth, rhythms that restore you, and a renewed sense of spiritual and emotional alignment.

Christian Counseling for Women
LEARN MOREChristian therapy supports women who want emotional care that honors their faith without turning it into pressure. Many women arrive feeling conflicted, believing they should be able to handle everything through prayer alone or fearing that asking for help reflects a lack of trust in God. Over time, this work becomes a space where faith and emotional honesty can exist together without shame.
Sessions often explore burnout, anxiety, emotional suppression, perfectionism, and the exhaustion that comes from always being strong. We take time to understand how these patterns developed and how they may now be affecting your body, relationships, and sense of peace. Support is offered virtually, allowing women in Crenshaw to receive care without disrupting already full lives.
Executive Coaching for High-Achieving Women
LEARN MOREExecutive coaching is designed for women who lead in visible and influential ways. This may include leadership in business, ministry, community organizations, or family systems. Many women seek coaching when decision fatigue, pressure, and responsibility begin to feel overwhelming.
This work focuses on alignment, boundaries, and leadership that does not require self-erasure. Sessions provide space to think clearly, recalibrate priorities, and lead from a place that feels grounded rather than depleted. Coaching is offered virtually to support demanding schedules.
Anxiety Therapy for High-Achieving Women
LEARN MOREAnxiety therapy supports women who feel constantly alert, tense, or on edge, even when nothing is immediately wrong. Anxiety may show up as racing thoughts, irritability, physical tension, or difficulty resting. For many women, this state developed as a response to long-term responsibility and visibility.
Our work focuses on calming the nervous system and understanding how anxiety operates in your daily life. Over time, women often feel less reactive, more present, and better able to rest without guilt.
Depression Therapy for High-Achieving Women
LEARN MOREDepression therapy offers support for women who feel emotionally disconnected, numb, or quietly discouraged while continuing to show up for others. Depression does not always look like sadness. It can look like exhaustion, lack of motivation, or feeling distant from yourself.
This space allows you to process grief, disappointment, and emotional loss without being rushed toward positivity. Many women experience renewed emotional connection and a stronger sense of internal stability through this work.
Therapy for Perfectionism
LEARN MORETherapy for perfectionism supports women who feel pressure to represent well, succeed consistently, and avoid mistakes, especially in visible roles. While perfectionism may have supported achievement, it often comes with chronic stress and self-criticism.
This work focuses on separating worth from performance and creating room for rest without fear. Over time, many women experience greater emotional flexibility and freedom.
Life Coaching for Women
LEARN MORELife coaching supports women who are capable, accomplished, and uncertain about what they want next. This work is helpful during transitions, seasons of growth, or moments when external success no longer matches internal fulfillment.
Coaching focuses on values, direction, and intentional decision-making without urgency or pressure. Sessions are forward-looking and supportive, designed to help you move with clarity rather than force.
Therapy for Executives
LEARN MORETherapy for executives provides confidential emotional support for women in leadership roles who carry influence and responsibility with few safe places to be honest. This space allows you to process stress, identity, and emotional weight without managing perception.
The focus is sustainability, not pushing harder. Many women find this work essential for continuing to lead without burning out.
Therapy for Black Women
LEARN MORETherapy for Black women centers lived experience, cultural context, and emotional truth. This work acknowledges the exhaustion that comes from strength expectations, emotional labor, and visibility within systems that do not always offer rest.
This space is about exhaling, telling the truth, and reconnecting with yourself beyond survival and performance.
I serve women in Crenshaw
I serve women in Crenshaw and surrounding South Los Angeles communities who are deeply rooted in family, culture, and leadership. This area is shaped by legacy, pride, and public presence, with nearby neighborhoods such as Leimert Park, Hyde Park, and Baldwin Hills, close to the Crenshaw Corridor and local cultural landmarks. For several years, I have supported Black women and women of color here through faith-integrated care that respects emotional complexity, cultural identity, and spiritual life. Virtual sessions make support accessible while remaining grounded in the realities of the local community.

FAQ about my counseling services
How does virtual therapy work?
It works like stepping into a private room without leaving your space. You receive a secure link from me, click it at your scheduled time, and we meet face to face online. Some women join from their office, others from a quiet spot at home.
Do you accept insurance?
I do not submit claims to insurance companies. Some women decide to use the receipts I provide and request reimbursement on their own. Others prefer private pay because it allows us to shape therapy around their goals rather than outside rules.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule a session?
Plans can change. If you tell me at least 24 hours in advance, we’ll reschedule without a fee. When notice is shorter, there may be a charge, though I always try to keep things fair and supportive.
Is virtual therapy effective?
Yes. The research is clear, but what matters most is the connection between us. Many women find they open up more easily online, because being in their own environment gives them comfort and freedom.
How do I know if this is the right fit?
The right fit is about more than comfort after a session. Sometimes it shows up as intuition, that quiet sense of safety when you speak. Other times it’s recognizing that your values are honored, that the pace feels right, and that the work points toward the life you want. If you feel understood and can imagine growing here, then the fit is real.
