Therapy in Gramercy Park | Counselor Dr. Jacquelyn Johnson
I offer Christian therapy and executive coaching for Black women and women of color who are used to holding things together even when they feel like they are coming apart inside. This work is for women who manage responsibility at work, at home, and in their faith communities while quietly carrying emotional exhaustion, anxiety, self doubt, and spiritual conflict around needing support. My approach honors your faith while making room for your real emotional experience.
Gramercy Park is a neighborhood shaped by perseverance, routine, and day to day responsibility. Many women here are balancing demanding schedules, family care, long work hours, and limited space to slow down or tend to their own needs. Life often requires pushing through, staying focused, and remaining dependable, even when emotional fatigue begins to build.
Women in Gramercy Park often seek out therapy when they realize that surviving is not the same as living. You do not need to reach a breaking point to ask for help. This is a space where your stress, doubts, faith questions, and emotional needs are taken seriously and met with care.

01
Clarify what’s no longer working
We’ll explore what’s bringing you in, the weight you’ve been carrying, and what you’re hoping will feel different. We start by exploring the patterns, roles, and beliefs that have been keeping you stuck in over-functioning, burnout, and emotional disconnection, especially those shaped by faith, culture, and performance.
02
Reclaim your voice and emotional truth
Together, we’ll begin to untangle the internalized narratives that say you have to be strong, silent, or selfless to be worthy. This is where you’ll practice honoring your needs, setting sacred boundaries, and telling yourself the truth, without shame.
03
Redefine your life from the inside out
As healing unfolds, we’ll build a more honest, faith-affirming relationship with yourself and your emotional world. You’ll walk away with tools to support your growth, rhythms that restore you, and a renewed sense of spiritual and emotional alignment.

Christian Counseling for Women
LEARN MOREChristian therapy supports women who want emotional care without disconnecting from their faith. Many clients come in feeling conflicted, believing they should be able to handle everything through prayer alone or fearing that therapy means a lack of trust in God. In our work together, faith and psychology are not in competition. They work alongside each other.
Sessions often explore chronic stress, burnout, anxiety, emotional shutdown, perfectionism, and the pressure to always be strong. We take time to understand how these patterns formed and what they have cost you emotionally and spiritually. Therapy is offered virtually, which allows women in Gramercy Park to receive consistent support without the burden of commuting or rearranging already full schedules.
Executive Coaching for High-Achieving Women
LEARN MOREExecutive coaching is for women who lead teams, households, ministries, or workplaces and feel the mental and emotional strain of constant decision making. This work focuses on sustainable leadership rather than pushing harder or doing more. Coaching helps you clarify priorities, set boundaries, and lead in ways that align with your values instead of draining you.
Sessions are structured, reflective, and practical, supporting women who want guidance without pressure or judgment. Coaching is delivered virtually to respect time constraints and real life demands.
Anxiety Therapy for High-Achieving Women
LEARN MOREAnxiety therapy supports women who feel restless, tense, or mentally overwhelmed even when things appear stable from the outside. Anxiety may show up as racing thoughts, irritability, difficulty sleeping, or feeling responsible for everything. Often, anxiety developed as a survival response to long term stress or responsibility. In therapy, we work gently with both the body and mind, helping you understand anxiety rather than fight it. The goal is to reduce its intensity, increase emotional regulation, and help you feel safer and calmer in your daily life.
Depression Therapy for High-Achieving Women
LEARN MOREDepression therapy offers support for women who feel emotionally disconnected, numb, or persistently tired while continuing to function. Depression does not always look like sadness. It can look like going through the motions, losing interest, or feeling distant from yourself and others. Therapy provides space to process grief, disappointment, exhaustion, and unmet needs without judgment. Over time, many clients experience renewed emotional connection, increased self compassion, and a stronger sense of internal stability.
Therapy for Perfectionism
LEARN MORETherapy for perfectionism supports women whose sense of worth feels tied to performance, reliability, or getting things right. Perfectionism often develops in response to pressure, expectation, or the need to stay safe and accepted. While it may have helped you succeed, it often leads to burnout and chronic self criticism. This work focuses on loosening the grip of perfectionism and helping you build a more flexible, compassionate relationship with yourself. Therapy supports rest, emotional honesty, and freedom from constant self monitoring.
Life Coaching for Women
LEARN MORELife coaching supports women who feel capable but unclear about what they want or need next. Coaching helps you sort through decisions, values, and transitions without urgency or pressure to perform. This work is especially helpful during seasons of change, uncertainty, or quiet dissatisfaction.
Sessions are forward looking and supportive, helping you reconnect with your voice and direction while honoring your faith and emotional capacity.
Therapy for Executives
LEARN MORETherapy for executives offers confidential emotional support for women in leadership roles who feel isolated, overextended, or unseen. This work addresses stress, emotional containment, and identity while respecting professional boundaries and personal values. Therapy becomes a place where you do not have to manage perception or hold everything together.
Therapy for Black Women
LEARN MORETherapy for Black women centers cultural context, lived experience, and emotional truth. This work acknowledges the weight of strength expectations, emotional labor, and the lack of spaces where vulnerability feels safe. Therapy offers a place to speak freely, rest emotionally, and reconnect with yourself beyond survival and responsibility.
I serve women in Gramercy Park
I work with women in Gramercy Park and surrounding South Los Angeles neighborhoods who manage daily responsibility, family care, and work demands with little space for rest. This area is shaped by routine, resilience, and long term commitment, including nearby communities such as Manchester Square, Hyde Park, and Inglewood, close to corridors like Century Boulevard and neighborhood parks. For several years, I have supported Black women and women of color here through faith integrated therapy and coaching that respects emotional reality, cultural values, and spiritual life. Through virtual sessions, I remove barriers like transportation and scheduling while remaining committed to serving women in this community with care that feels steady, thoughtful, and personal.

FAQ about my counseling services
How does virtual therapy work?
You’ll receive a secure video link for each appointment. Many clients appreciate being able to connect from their own space, which makes therapy feel easier to maintain.
Do you accept insurance?
I do not bill insurance directly. Some clients submit their receipts to their provider for possible reimbursement. Private payment allows us to set the pace and direction of therapy together without external restrictions.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule a session?
If your plans change, let me know at least 24 hours ahead and we’ll move your appointment. This keeps the schedule fair for everyone and helps maintain consistency.
Is virtual therapy effective?
Yes. Studies show virtual sessions are as effective as in-person care. Many women even find it easier to open up when they’re in a familiar environment like their own home.
How do I know if this is the right fit?
You’ll know by how you feel after sessions. If you leave feeling lighter, more supported, and more equipped to handle what’s in front of you, therapy is working. My goal is to create that safe and faith-affirming space where you feel deeply seen.
