Therapy in Leimert Park | Counselor Dr. Jacquelyn Johnson
I offer Christian therapy and executive coaching for high achieving Black women and women of color who are deeply capable, emotionally aware, and quietly exhausted beneath the surface. This work is for women who lead, create, care, and serve while carrying anxiety, burnout, spiritual guilt, and emotional responsibility that often goes unseen. My approach supports your mental health while honoring your faith, identity, and full humanity.
Leimert Park is a cultural heartbeat of Black creativity, expression, and community life. Many women here are deeply connected to art, activism, faith, and collective care while also navigating professional demands and personal expectations. There is pride in resilience and contribution, but little space to slow down and tend to what you are carrying internally
Women in this community choose this work because they want support that honors both their cultural identity and emotional truth. You do not have to choose between faith and therapy, creativity and rest, or strength and softness. Here, your inner world matters.
Ready to get started?
01
Clarify what’s no longer working
We’ll explore what’s bringing you in, the weight you’ve been carrying, and what you’re hoping will feel different. We start by exploring the patterns, roles, and beliefs that have been keeping you stuck in over-functioning, burnout, and emotional disconnection, especially those shaped by faith, culture, and performance.
02
Reclaim your voice and emotional truth
Together, we’ll begin to untangle the internalized narratives that say you have to be strong, silent, or selfless to be worthy. This is where you’ll practice honoring your needs, setting sacred boundaries, and telling yourself the truth, without shame.
03
Redefine your life from the inside out
As healing unfolds, we’ll build a more honest, faith-affirming relationship with yourself and your emotional world. You’ll walk away with tools to support your growth, rhythms that restore you, and a renewed sense of spiritual and emotional alignment.

Christian Counseling for Women
LEARN MOREChristian therapy is designed for high achieving women who love God yet feel emotionally depleted, overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves. This work integrates faith with psychological care so you do not have to separate your spiritual life from your emotional healing. Many women arrive carrying spiritual guilt, believing they should pray harder instead of asking for help. In therapy, we gently challenge that belief and affirm that seeking support can be an act of faith. Sessions focus on burnout, anxiety, perfectionism, emotional suppression, and identity beyond productivity. Offered virtually, this service supports women in Leimert Park who value depth, privacy, and care that fits real life.
Executive Coaching for High-Achieving Women
LEARN MOREExecutive coaching supports women who lead organizations, creative projects, ministries, or community initiatives while feeling emotionally stretched thin. This work is especially helpful for women balancing leadership with cultural responsibility and service to others. Coaching focuses on sustainable leadership, boundary setting, decision fatigue, and self trust. Sessions are offered virtually, allowing reflection and support without disrupting already full lives.
Anxiety Therapy for High-Achieving Women
LEARN MOREAnxiety therapy supports women who appear grounded and capable while internally feeling restless, tense, or overwhelmed. Therapy for Perfectionism
LEARN MORETherapy for perfectionism helps women who feel driven to overperform, avoid mistakes, and hold themselves to unrealistic standards. For many women, perfectionism develops as a response to cultural pressure and survival. This work focuses on releasing self worth from achievement and building boundaries that support rest, self compassion, and wholeness.
Life Coaching for Women

FAQ about my counseling services
How does virtual therapy work?
Sessions are held over a secure video platform that’s easy to use. Many clients find virtual therapy more comfortable because they can join from familiar surroundings, which often makes it easier to open up.
Do you accept insurance?
I do not work directly with insurance companies. However, I can provide you with a detailed receipt if you want to explore possible reimbursement with your plan. Choosing to pay privately allows us to set our own pace and focus entirely on your growth without outside restrictions.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule a session?
I understand that plans can change. If you let me know at least 24 hours before your session, we can reschedule without a fee. This policy helps me keep availability open for other clients as well.
Is virtual therapy effective?
Yes. Studies show virtual therapy can be just as effective as in-person sessions. Many women appreciate that it saves time and energy, while still giving them the same quality of connection and support.
How do I know if this is the right fit?
You’ll know it’s a good fit if you feel safe, supported, and encouraged to be honest in our sessions. The right therapist is someone who listens deeply, understands your challenges, and helps you move forward in a way that feels aligned with your values and faith.
