Therapy in West Adams | Counselor Dr. Jacquelyn Johnson
I offer Christian therapy and executive coaching for high achieving Black women and women of color who are deeply capable, emotionally intelligent, and quietly exhausted beneath the surface. This work is for women who lead, build, care for others, and hold responsibility with strength while carrying anxiety, burnout, spiritual guilt, and emotional weight that often goes unseen. My approach supports your mental health while honoring your faith, identity, and full humanity.
West Adams is a neighborhood shaped by history, transition, and deep community roots. Many women here are navigating professional growth alongside family legacy, home ownership, community involvement, and faith commitments. There is often pride in being resilient and adaptable, yet little space to slow down and tend to emotional needs without feeling selfish or weak.
Women in this community choose this work because they want support that respects both their strength and their sensitivity. You do not have to choose between faith and therapy, ambition and rest, or leadership and emotional care. Here, your inner life matters
Ready to get started?
01
Clarify what’s no longer working
We’ll explore what’s bringing you in, the weight you’ve been carrying, and what you’re hoping will feel different. We start by exploring the patterns, roles, and beliefs that have been keeping you stuck in over-functioning, burnout, and emotional disconnection, especially those shaped by faith, culture, and performance.
02
Reclaim your voice and emotional truth
Together, we’ll begin to untangle the internalized narratives that say you have to be strong, silent, or selfless to be worthy. This is where you’ll practice honoring your needs, setting sacred boundaries, and telling yourself the truth, without shame.
03
Redefine your life from the inside out
As healing unfolds, we’ll build a more honest, faith-affirming relationship with yourself and your emotional world. You’ll walk away with tools to support your growth, rhythms that restore you, and a renewed sense of spiritual and emotional alignment.

Christian Counseling for Women
LEARN MOREChristian therapy is designed for high achieving women who love God yet feel emotionally depleted, overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves. This work integrates faith with psychological care so you do not have to separate your spiritual life from your emotional healing. Many women arrive carrying spiritual guilt, believing they should pray harder instead of asking for help. In therapy, we gently challenge that belief and affirm that seeking support can be an act of faith. Sessions focus on burnout, anxiety, perfectionism, emotional suppression, and identity beyond productivity. Offered virtually, this service supports women in West Adams who value privacy, flexibility, and care that fits real life.
Executive Coaching for High-Achieving Women
LEARN MOREExecutive coaching supports women who hold leadership roles while feeling emotionally stretched thin. This work is especially helpful for professionals balancing career growth with family responsibility, community involvement, and faith commitments. Coaching focuses on sustainable leadership, boundary setting, decision fatigue, and self trust. Sessions are offered virtually, allowing meaningful support without disrupting already full schedules.
Anxiety Therapy for High-Achieving Women
LEARN MOREAnxiety therapy supports women who appear calm and capable while internally feeling tense, restless, or overwhelmed. Anxiety often shows up as overthinking, hyper responsibility, and difficulty resting, particularly for women navigating change and growth. In therapy, we explore how anxiety lives in your body, thoughts, and spiritual life while building grounding and emotional safety.
Depression Therapy for High-Achieving Women
LEARN MOREDepression therapy offers support for women who feel emotionally numb, disconnected, or quietly discouraged while continuing to show up for others. Depression often hides behind competence, resilience, and adaptability. Therapy creates space to process sadness, grief, fatigue, and loss of self in a way that feels compassionate and affirming.
Therapy for Perfectionism
LEARN MORETherapy for perfectionism helps women who feel driven to overperform, avoid mistakes, and carry unrealistic expectations of themselves. For many women, perfectionism develops as a response to pressure, visibility, and responsibility. This work focuses on releasing self worth from achievement and building boundaries that support rest, self compassion, and wholeness.
Life Coaching for Women
LEARN MORELife coaching supports women who feel successful yet unsure of who they are outside of expectations placed on them. Coaching focuses on clarity, values alignment, and intentional decision making while honoring faith and emotional capacity. This service is ideal for women seeking direction without urgency or performance.
Therapy for Executives
LEARN MORETherapy for executives offers a confidential space for women in leadership to process stress, emotional isolation, and identity concerns. This work supports sustainable leadership while respecting your professional role, personal values, and spiritual life. Therapy is offered virtually to meet the needs of demanding schedules.
Therapy for Black Women
LEARN MORETherapy for Black women provides culturally responsive, faith affirming care that honors lived experience, resilience, and emotional truth. This work addresses emotional labor, strength expectations, and the lack of safe spaces to rest. Therapy focuses on emotional liberation, boundary setting, and reconnecting with self beyond survival.

FAQ about my counseling services
How does virtual therapy work?
Sessions take place through a secure online platform. Many women appreciate that they can connect from their home or office, making therapy more consistent and less stressful to fit into a busy schedule.
Do you accept insurance?
I do not work directly with insurance. Some clients submit their receipts to their provider for possible reimbursement, but many prefer private pay because it gives us flexibility in how long and how often we meet, without restrictions from outside systems.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule a session?
Things come up, and I understand that. If you let me know at least 24 hours before our scheduled time, we can reschedule without a fee. Cancellations with less notice are subject to a charge to keep scheduling fair for everyone.
Is virtual therapy effective?
Yes. Virtual therapy has been shown to be as effective as in-person care. Many women tell me that being in their own environment makes it easier to open up and stay engaged in the process.
How do I know if this is the right fit?
You’ll know it’s the right fit if you feel supported, safe, and able to be real. If you leave sessions feeling more clear and less alone in what you’re carrying, therapy is serving you well. My role is to hold space where faith and emotional honesty can come together so you feel deeply seen.
